Shame on the state board for not doing a walk-through inspection of the funeral home before it closed. I have been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 45 years and this is horrible. The casket with decomposing body fluids and the building is unsafe. Breathing black mold can be a serious health hazard. Glad this place was demolished.

The Donley brothers have an amazing history. I just googled them. Their whole flip book of fireplaces is on Google. They functioned from 1895-1970, then the business was sold.

You kept referring to the C-arm imaging equipment as MRIs. Those were more likely C-arm x-ray fluoroscopy machines, used for angiograms (studying vessels of the heart and other organs).

From what I have read online, Aretha Franklin bought this property in 1994. Her estate sold the mansion in 2018. According to Anthony O. Kellum, the guy who brought the house, the property had been empty for 10 years. Aretha Franklin was living at Riverfront Towers when she passed away. I'm not too sure if Anthony O Kellum still owns the house now.

Don't put valuables on your loved ones before they're buried such as watches, chains, etc. Many of the people in charge of funeral procedures steal them before the body is buried. Besides, they won't be needing a watch ⌚ they have all the time in the world.
